I trained as a civil engineer; my thesis modelled how mercury builds up in Lake Ontario fish. I spent twelve years at Accenture in Toronto, rising from Analyst to Senior Manager on SAP programs for a national postal service, an oilfield services company, a mining group and a financial institution.
In 2011 I founded Second Office in East London, South Africa. Its team has run it day to day since 2023, on systems I put in place. In British Columbia I work in hospitality operations and co-lead the International Committee of the Rotary Club of Powell River. I sit on the board of Youth Potential South Africa and co-direct Startup Grind East London.
I live, work and play on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation.
I led architecture and security for an SAP platform used by more than 60,000 employees. The security roles were designed around how people actually did their jobs, and every release came with training, so people were using it from go-live.
